    Last month, the Chinese smartphone maker Redmi unveiled a new smartphone dubbed Redmi K40 Gaming Edition in the home market, China. The smartphone caters to the gaming audience in the region and is priced aggressively. Now, the device has arrived on the Giztop shop for as low as $429.

    The aforementioned price is for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant can be picked up for $469 and the max variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of variant is priced at $529.

    It is available in Black, White, and Silver color variant. Do note that it is the Chinese variant that does not come with Google Mobile Services pre-installed.

    Redmi K40 Gaming Edition Smartphone Specifications

    The gaming smartphone comes with a unique design as compared to the other K40 siblings. It has a patterned rear design with strips going all around the back. The smartphone sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It is a bright 1300 nits panel with a high 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth gaming experience.

    Although a gaming phone is infamous for not having a great camera setup, the K40 Gaming Edition does it differently. The smartphone boasts a triple rear camera setup that is placed vertically. It is led by a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and lastly a 2-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

    The rear camera can record 4K videos at up to 30fps and it does have support for slow-motion videos. At the front, it features a 16-megapixel single camera setup for selfie shots.

    Under the hood, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes powered by the most powerful MediaTek Dimensity chipset, the Dimensity 1200 SoC. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

    It packs a 5,065mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging technology. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. It has VC liquid cooling technology for maintaining the heat while playing intense games. It also has an Infrared sensor for controlling the electronic devices in your house. It runs on Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12.5 out of the box.
