Today, the International Display Technology and Application Innovation Exhibition opened in Shanghai. BOE showcased innovative display technologies and solutions such as flexible AMOLED, Mini LED, and under-screen cameras, so let’s give them a closer look.
32:9 ultra-wide OLED curved display
This interesting specimen is one of the cooler displays shown off. The unique 32:9 aspect ratio makes the display extremely wide. We can’t see a very practical application for a display this wide, but it’s cool to see.
Outer folding screen
This is a folding display, very reminiscent of Huawei’s Mate X line of devices. It makes sense that this technology will slowly be adopted more by the market, and we’re looking forward to when smaller companies can get their hands on them.

Flexible OLED notebook display
This one is self explanatory. While we’ve seen curved laptop displays before, they’ve never really had any mainstream appeal. Now with the mass production of smaller curved displays, we might start seeing them more often.
Other than that, BOE also revealed a 27-inch LED display and 15.6-inch LED display with very minimal bezels. Overall it’s a good showing from the company. We’re looking forward to these products being adopted by the smartphone and laptop markets fairly soon.
