    Black Shark 3S Launched In China With 120Hz Refresh Rate Panel, SD 865, and Tencent SolarCore

    The Black Shark 3S gaming smartphone has been just unveiled in the Chinese market with new hardware and more features. It is the third iteration of gaming phones from the company and it starts at just $573.

    Black Shark 3S Gaming Smartphone Specifications

    The Black Shark 3S features a large 6.67-inch display with a resolution of Full-HD+. It is an AMOLED panel that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and has a 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display also doubles up as an underneath-display fingerprint scanner.

    Under the roof, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 takes care of the machine and draws juice from the 4,720mAh battery. It has 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is a 65W Super-fast charging support that is said to charge the device instantly so you can jump back to your gaming session. It also has a magnetic charging feature that will let users juice up the device at a speed of 18W.

    Being a gaming smartphone the cameras are not always the main priority but Black Shark has tossed the device with a 64-megapixel triple camera system. It is accompanied by two 13-megapixel ultra-wide and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing lens. There is a 20-megapixel single selfie camera held by the notch.

    Aside from the basic specs, the Shark 3S has Sandwich Liquid Cooling System that is claimed to prevent heating and provide a good gaming experience. There is Tencent’s SolarCore and Game Engine. It has Joy UI 12 which is based on MIUI 12 and has game-centric software. The smartphone comes with 3D sound technology and has a wired screen mirroring feature.

    Pricing and Colorways

    The Black Shark 3S gaming smartphone arrives in two styles – Crystal Blue and Skyfall Black. The 12GB RAM + 128GB variant is priced at CNY 3,999(~$573), the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant is priced at CNY 4,299(~$616), and you need to pay CNY 4,799(~$687) for the maxed out 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant.

    There are three new accessories that go along with the gaming smartphone. Starting with the Black Shark Gamepad priced at CNY 238(~$34), Black Shark Shoulder Buttons priced at CNY 79 (~$11), and the Black Shark Finger Sleeve priced at CNY 29(~$4).
