Asus has already launched the ROG Phone 5 series being one of the first smartphone series to have 18GB of RAM. Now, the company seems to be on the verge of propelling the Asus Zenfone 8 Series comprising three devices. One of them could come with a compact display and could be the first compact Snapdragon 888 handset.
Asus Zenfone 8 Mini, Zenfone 8, and Zenfone 8 Pro Specs(Rumored)
As per a report from XDA Developers, Asus is working on three Zenfone 8 series phones codenamed SAKE, PICASSO, and VODKA. The ‘SAKE’ is said to have a smaller 5.92-inch footprint with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will come with an OLED panel with full-HD+ resolution.

It is touted to boast a new Sony sensor, the Sony IMX663 alongside the popular Sony IMX686 64MP sensor. Under the roof, it will power the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Being a compact handset, it remains to be seen whether it packs a bigger battery.
Aside from the compact ‘SAKE’, the PICASSO and VODKA are expected to be full-fledged Pro models with a larger footprint and similar specs. Out of the two, the PICASSO is rumored to sport a mammoth 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the VODKA will have a slightly larger 6.7-inch display.
Both the models are expected to have bigger batteries with some sort of fast charging support. The PICASSO is said to feature a triple rear camera system with a Sony IMX686 main sensor, an IMX363 ultra-wide lens, and lastly a telephoto lens. The camera specs for the VODKA are yet to be known. Internally, the duo will be powered by the same Snapdragon 888 chipset and run on Android 11.
Regarding the launch date, there are still quite a few weeks left before we officially hear from the company. Until then, we have our eyes on the rumor mill.
