ASUS today released the entry-level ASYS RT-AX55 Wi-Fi 6 router, with a fairly high dual-band concurrent speed of 1.77Gbps. It comes with a good slew of features for an entry-level router, so let’s take a closer look at it.
The ASUS RT-AX55 router is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor (processor specific manufacturer and power amplifier details are not yet disclosed), equipped with 128 MB flash memory and 256 MB storage space.

It has four external 9dB antennas, 802.11ax dual frequency with a concurrent speed of 1.77Gbps (1201Mbps at 5GHz+574Mbps at 2.4GHz), 80MHz bandwidth, and it provides five gigabit ports (1WAN+4LAN). It also supports OFDMA, MU-MIMO, AiPrott security Protection, Mesh networking and other technologies.
Although ASUS has not announced the price or release date, reports claim the actual price of the router may not exceed US$99, and it is expected to become the cheapest ASUS WiFi 6 router.
